Social Meetings

The Hometowner’s Club gathers bimonthly for a delicious lunch and a well-planned program on a wide range of topics. The programs include musical entertainment, guest speakers on financial topics, arts and crafts, and more! The Hometowner’s Club’s various activities are also scheduled and planned at these meetings.

2024 Hometowner’s Club Trips & Events

  • CLARKSVILLE, IN – DERBY DINNER THEATER – Thursday, April 18, 2024: SOLD OUT* Let’s boogie north to Clarksville, IN, for a delicious buffet lunch at the Derby Dinner Theater and enjoy the foot-stompin’ musical, “Footloose,” the explosive movie musical with dynamic new songs and your favorite powerhouse hits! This musical celebrates the exhilaration of youth, the wisdom of listening to one another, and the power of forgiveness. The cost is $85 per person. Payment is due on March 14, 2024. The bus will leave the Towne Mall in Elizabethtown, KY, at 10:15 AM EST and return around 4:30 PM EST.
  • GRAND RIVERS, KY – PATTI’S 1880 SETTLEMENT & THE BADGETT PLAYHOUSE – Tuesday, May 21, 2024: SOLD OUT* Come along as we head west to the Land Between the Lakes for a day in scenic Grand River, KY. During our visit, we’ll enjoy lunch and shopping at Patti’s 1880 Settlement and Boutiques before catching an afternoon matinee at the Badgett Playhouse. “Pickin’ & Grinnin'” is a hilarious take on the classic TV variety show “Hee Haw” and features classic country music, funny skits, and more! This show is sure to delight you! The cost is $120 per person. Payment is due on April 18, 2024. The bus will leave the Towne Mall in Elizabethtown, KY, at 8:30 AM EST and return around 9:00 PM EST.
  • MACKINAC ISLAND, MI – Monday, June 10 through Friday, June 14, 2024:  With gorgeous lakes, forests, dunes, and more, this tour of Northern Michigan will be a treat for the eyes! We will embark on a five-day trip to Michigan, starting with two days in Frankenmuth, also known as Little Bavaria. Our accommodation will be at the Bavarian Inn Lodge, and we’ll enjoy a Willkommen dinner at the Bavarian Inn Restaurant. We’ll have the opportunity to rediscover the magic of Christmas by shopping at Bronner’s Christmas Wonderland, the world’s largest Christmas store! We’ll also explore the natural beauty of Frankenmuth by cruising the Cass River with a step-on guided tour on the Bavarian Belle Riverboat. Additionally, we’ll have some free time to shop on our own. On day three, we’ll ferry from Mackinac City to Mackinac Island. This car-free island is full of charm and hospitality, and we’ll have lunch at The Grand Hotel and some time for sightseeing and shopping. We’ll then spend the night at the Lake View Hotel on the Island. On day four, we’ll depart the Island and travel to the Best Western Greenfield Inn in Allen Park, just outside of Detroit. On day five, we’ll start the day with a tour of the Henry Ford Museum of American Innovation, where we can step into a world where past innovations fuel the imagination of future generations. After lunch, we’ll return home with great memories of our Michigan trip! The trip includes eight meals and four nights of lodging. The cost is Single $1,635 per person; Double $1,235 per person; Triple $1,195 per person; Quad $1,175 per person. A $250 per person deposit is due on March 27, 2024. The final payment is due on April 24, 2024. The bus will leave the Towne Mall in Elizabethtown, KY, at 7:00 AM EST on June 10, 2024, and return around 9:30 PM EST on June 14, 2024.
  • NASHVILLE, TN – GENERAL JACKSON SHOWBOAT – Tuesday, July 23, 2024: SOLD OUT* Let’s cruise to Nashville, TN, for a trip on the picturesque Cumberland River on the General Jackson Showboat! While “rollin’ down the river,” we’ll enjoy stunning views, some of the finest Southern cooking with a delicious buffet meal, and toe-tapping entertainment in the two-story Victorian Theater. Built in 1817, the General Jackson is one of the largest showboats ever built. Its elegant lacy filigree and stately design are reminiscent of the opulence of the American Victorian era. We’ll be treated to the music of the Tennessee Legends, some of Nashville’s finest musicians and singers who share stories and songs from the pride of Tennessee. With guitars, fiddles, and voices ringing, Tennessee Legends is a can’t-miss musical treat! The cost is $125 per person. Payment is due on June 11, 2024. The bus will leave the Towne Mall in Elizabethtown, KY, at 8:45 AM EST and return around 7:30 PM EST.
  • VERSAILLES, KY – THE KENTUCKY CASTLE – Tuesday, August 20, 2024: SOLD OUT* Discover the mystery behind the walls of The Kentucky Castle! This guided tour showcases the best of both the Castle and the Farm! We’ll begin with the Castle tour, which showcases its beautiful public spaces and grounds. Next, we’ll be guided through the gardens that provide food for the farm-to-table restaurant, and we’ll end with the opportunity to visit many of the animals on our working Farm. We’ll also be treated to a farm-to-table experience with a delicious meal made with fresh ingredients grown on-site! The cost is $92 per person. Payment is due on July 16, 2024. The bus will leave Towne Mall in Elizabethtown, KY, at 9:15 AM EST and return around 4:00 PM EST.
  • INDIANAPOLIS, IN – BEEF & BOARDS DINNER THEATER – Wednesday, September 25, 2024: Let’s roll north to Indy for a buffet lunch and the musical production of “Million Dollar Quartet” at Beef & Boards Dinner Theater! On December 4, 1956, an extraordinary twist of fate brought Johnny Cash, Jerry Lee Lewis, Carl Perkins, and Elvis Presley together at Sun Records in Memphis for what would be one of the greatest jam sessions ever. “Million Dollar Quartet” brings that legendary December night to life, featuring an incredible score performed live onstage, including “Blue Suede Shoes,” “Fever,” “Walk the Line,” “Sixteen Tons,” “Who Do You Love,” “That’s All Right,” “Folsom Prison Blues,” “Whole Lotta Shakin’ Goin’ On,” “Hound Dog,”… and more! The cost is $115 per person. Payment is due on August 14, 2024. The bus will leave the Towne Mall in Elizabethtown, KY, at 7:00 AM EST and return around 7:30 PM EST.
  • EUREKA SPRINGS, AR, & MEMPHIS, TN – Monday, October 7 through Friday, October 11, 2024: Our first destination is the Ozark Mountains for a two-night stay in Eureka Springs, AR. This charming town is known for its preserved Victorian buildings in the Historic District. Upon our arrival on Monday evening, we’ll check in to the Best Western Inn of the Ozarks and enjoy a homestyle dinner at Myrtie Mae’s Eureka Springs Cafe inside the hotel. On day two, we’ll start with a 90-minute tram tour through historic downtown Eureka Springs provided by Eureka Springs Tram Tours. Next, we’ll visit the Turpentine Creek Wildlife Refuge for a guided tour. This refuge is home to abused and neglected “Big Cats,” such as tigers, lions, leopards, and cougars. We’ll then have lunch and a tour at War Eagle Mill, believed to be the last working grist mill in Arkansas. Our adventure continues with a visit to the architectural wonder Thorncrown Chapel, which rises 48 feet into the Ozark sky and is surrounded by a woodland setting. Our last stop of the day will be the Holy Land Tour. We’ll walk through a life-sized replica of the Eastern Gate in Jerusalem into an authentic marketplace and then enjoy an all-you-can-eat buffet dinner at the Great Passion Play’s Great Hall Buffet. After dinner, we’ll watch the Great Passion Play, “America’s #1 Outdoor Drama,” and relive The Greatest Story Ever Told. On day three, after breakfast, we’ll check out of the hotel and travel to Memphis, TN, where we’ll spend two nights at the Drury Inn & Suites – Memphis Southaven. After checking in, we’ll explore Beale Street, the official Home of the Blues, for dinner and self-guided exploration. After breakfast on day four, we’ll embark on the Memphis Mojo Tour, a two-hour tour with a guide who is also a professional Beale Street musician who plays and sings selections from the city’s rich musical heritage while entertaining us with comedy, history, and behind-the-scenes stories of your favorite Memphis personalities. We’ll then visit Sun Studios, The Birthplace of Rock ‘n Roll, where musical legends and genres of the 50s, from B.B. King and Elvis Presley to Johnny Cash and Jerry Lee Lewis. No trip to Memphis is complete without a visit to Graceland for the Elvis Experience Tour, which includes full access to the all-new Elvis Presley Memphis Entertainment Complex. We’ll return to the Drury Inn & Suites just in time for their free Kickback®, which begins at 5:30 PM and includes dinnertime snacks, cold beverages, beer, wine, mixed drinks, and more. On Friday, day five, we’ll depart after breakfast and make our way home, arriving early in the evening. The cost is Single $1,349 per person; Double: $1,109 per person; Triple $1,039 per person; Quad $1,019 per person. A $250 per person deposit is due on August 9, 2024. The final payment is due on September 6, 2024. The bus will leave the Towne Mall in Elizabethtown, KY, at 7:00 AM EST on October 7, 2024, and return around 6:00 PM EST on October 11, 2024.
  • SPRINGBORO, OH – LA COMEDIA DINNER THEATRE – Wednesday, November 6, 2024: ‍Get ready for the holiday season with a buffet meal and a La Comedia Dinner Theatre show! Direct from Broadway! Irving Berlin’s Holiday Inn tells the story of Jim, who leaves the bright lights of show business behind to settle down at his farmhouse…but life just isn’t the same without a bit of song and dance. Jim’s luck turns spectacular when he meets Linda, a spirited schoolteacher with talent to spare. Together, they turn the farmhouse into a fabulous inn with dazzling performances to celebrate each holiday, from Thanksgiving to the Fourth of July.   • PIGEON FORGE, TN – SMOKEY MOUNTAIN CHRISTMAS – Monday, December 2 through Wednesday, December 4, 2024: ‍Get ready to keep the magic of Christmas alive with a trip to the beautiful Smoky Mountains. We will stay two nights at the rustic and cozy Lodge at Five Oaks. Entertainment includes the longest-running feud in history at the “Hatfield and McCoy Dinner Feud,” “Remembering Red:  A Tribute to Red Skelton,” a magical Christmas presentation at a “Country Tonite Show,” and a step-on guide of the city’s annual Winterfest Celebration. We will also enjoy dining experiences at fine establishments, including the Wood Grill Buffet and Applewood Farmhouse. And no trip to the Smoky Mountains is complete without time for Christmas sightseeing and shopping at Three Bears General Store, The Island, Tanger Outlet, and Smoky Mountain Knife Works. Roundtrip bus transportation, five meals, three shows, and two nights of lodging are included in the cost. The cost is Single $919 per person; Double: $719 per person; Triple $669 per person; Quad $649 per person. A $200 per person deposit is due on August 20, 2024. The final payment is due on October 1, 2024. The bus will leave the Towne Mall in Elizabethtown, KY, at 7:00 AM EST on December 2, 2024, and return around 9:30 PM EST on December 4, 2024.
